Red Cross Day was celebrated yesterday at the Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital. District Magistrate Shri Kamal Lochan Mishra inaugurated the voluntary blood donation camp by paying homage to the portrait of Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross.
Later, a meeting was held at the district hospital conference room and Shri Mishra described the blood donation as “great.” There is nothing better in the world than to save a precious life in an untimely time,” he said.
The ideal of the Red Cross is to promote the cohesive discourse of communism, regardless of race, religion, or colour. That is our responsibility to treat all human beings equally, he said.
He advised the CDMO to organize more and more blood donation camps through various private institutions, organizations and clubs in the district to collect the required blood.
On this occasion, the district collector honoured the individuals and institutions that donate blood at regular intervals with honours. Transparency kits have been distributed to patients undergoing treatment at the district headquarters hospital.
Nabarangpur CDMO Dr Kali Prasad Behera, Additional District Magistrate Bhaskar Raita, Deputy District Magistrate Akshay Sunil Agrawal, District Emergency Officer Mousumi Nayak, District Program Officer Himanshu Pattnaik, ADMO Kanhu Charan Panda, District Social Security Officer Sudhanshu Patra were present.
