Today we went out again to visit a Hindu temple for you and finally stopped at the Gayatri temple of Nabarangpur town which is also famously known as Gayatri Shakti Peeth.
Yes, this is the only Gayatri temple in Nabarangpur town. It comes under the Chutiaguda area of Nabarangpur where the Goddess Gayatri is being worshipped.

When you are visiting the Nabarangpur district due to whatever reason, you can also spend a little time around this temple. You don’t have to travel a large distance as it is situated inside the town.
The benefit of visiting this temple is that you can also visit the Shiv Temple situated just side of the Gayatri temple. A small Navagraha temple is situated just in front of the Shiv Temple.
Samadhi Sthal of Prakhar Pragya and Sajal Shraddha is also made there in front of Gayatri temple. Talking about its management bodies, Shri Bhaskar Shekhar Pati is the Secretary of the Temple Committee, Nityananda Panda is the president and Ujwala Nayak is acting as the Block Coordinator.
The nearby Shiv temple is anointed as the Mahakaleswar Mahadev Temple and was inaugurated in the year 2022 on the 5th of February on the occasion of Basanta Panchami & Gayatri Shakti Peeth was inaugurated in 2018 on 12th of April.
Ambika Brahma Devi is known as one of the main founders of this Gayatri Shakti Peeth. Everyday worship is done in the Shiv temple. Whereas in the case of Gayatri Shakti Peeth on every Sunday & at every Sankranti worship is being done.
Every year in the month of May annual celebration is celebrated in the Temple. There are two common worshippers for both the Gayatri & Shiva temple present i.e. Shri Ghanashyam Bhardwaj and Smt Sujata Bhardwaj.

The Shakti Peethas are significant shrines and pilgrimage destinations in Shaktism, the goddess-focused Adi Shakti in Hindu tradition. Special worship of God is performed in every Shakti Peeth.
The speciality of Shakti Peeths is that a certain house is made in the Temple campus for residing of worshippers where they stay and do worship for a certain period of time like 6 months.
Then they go to another Shakti Peeth and the process continues. In this Gayatri Shakti Peeth of Nabarangpur current two worshippers also switch to another Shakti Peeth after completing their 6 months of worship.
There is a stall near the temple for providing worship materials to the devotees coming here. To place safely the temple’s necessary materials like mats, tent items, musical instruments etc. there is a store room side to the temple.
