South-West monsoon winds will hit the state of Odisha in the next 4 to 5 days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar said in a statement that the weather was slowly changing.
“Raja Festival” will start from tomorrow. While there is a possibility of monsoon arrivals within it, the effects of monsoon are now being felt in the state. According to reports, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri and Kalahandi districts received slight rain yesterday evening.
Heavy rains lashed Nandahandi and Tentulikhunti blocks of Nabarangpur yesterday as per the sources. Due to yesterday’s rains, people felt a little relaxed with the summer heat.
According to the information, the temperature will drop by another 2 to 3 degrees in the next 4 to 5 days in Odisha. According to previous estimates, the monsoon was scheduled to touch Odisha on June 12, but that was not possible.
So, there will be a slight delay in touching the monsoon. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rains in different parts of Odisha in the next 4 to 5 days.
Yesterday, along with the South Odisha districts, thunderstorms were reported in the Kandhamal, Balangir, Puri, Boudha, Gajapati, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh and Anugul districts of Odisha.
