Four police officers from Odisha State have been selected to receive the Union Home Minister’s Medal for excellence in the investigation. It has been reported that Sumitra Jena from Koraput district will also receive this medal.
Sumitra Jena is now working as District Intelligence Bureau (DIB)’s DSP in Koraput. Along with her, Inspector Ashish Chandra Jena, Annasuya Nayak and Ramesh Kumar Pradhan, working in other areas of the state, are on the list of honourable medals.
It is said that this medal is being given to Sumitra Jena based on the successful investigation of a murder case when she was working as an officer at Orkel police station in Malkangiri district a few years ago.
She said to the media that if any crime is properly investigated, it will be successful. She said, the reputation and medal which she got today, anyone can get according to his/her dedication and honest duty.
