A sex racket has been busted in 2 lodges in Gunupur city of Rayagada district. On Saturday evening, after receiving information from a reliable source, the police team raided and arrested 5 accused.
In this case, the police also rescued 2 young women. According to the information received from the lodge, the police arrested Ratalu Babula, a client along with a young woman. Similarly, the owner of the lodge, Prabhakara Shabat, was also arrested.
Similarly, a young woman was rescued from Bhanu Lodge in the city and her client Sushant Parichha was arrested. The owner of this lodge Santosh Kumar Sahu and the manager Santosh Kumar Mahapatra has also been arrested.
Police seized 10,000 rupees of cash, mobile phones and many offensive items from 2 lodges. A case has been filed in Gunupur police station and 5 people have been booked. According to the court, the rescued young woman of Ukumba (ଉକୁମ୍ବା) village was handed over to her family by the police.
Another young woman is from Berhampur and has been kept in Gunupur. She will be handed over when her family members come, Gunupur police station IIC Ashrita Khalko informed.
