The price of domestic gas has risen by Rs 50 per cylinder, Odisha

Country-owned oil companies on Wednesday hiked the price of domestic gas cylinders (14.2 kg) by Rs 50/- across the country. In addition, the price of domestic 5 kg cylinders has also increased by Rs 18.

On the other hand, the price of commercial gas cylinders has been reduced by Rs 8.50. As a result, the price of domestic cooking gas in Bhubaneswar city will rise to Rs 1079 from 6 am today and a further increase in the whole country.

The gas cylinder prices are increased in the entire Odisha state as well as in Cuttack (Rs 1079.50), Dhenkanal (Rs 1096.50), Sambalpur (Rs 1114.50), Balasore (Rs 1095.50) and Malkangiri (Rs 1082) district.

On the other hand, the price of commercial gas cylinders has dropped to Rs 2160.50. The rise in cooking gas prices has had a direct impact on the cost of living. From January 1 to July 6 this year, the price of domestic gas cylinders has increased by Rs 153.

With the rise in petrol and diesel prices, the price of daily necessities has skyrocketed. At this point, rising gas prices are hitting the pockets of beneficiaries, especially the middle class.

In January, 14.2 kg of gas was priced at Rs 926, up from Rs 50 on April 1, up from Rs 976. On May 7, the price of gas rose to Rs 1029/- due to an increase in the price of cooking gas cylinders by Rs 53.

While prices remained unchanged in June, they rose by another Rs 50 on July 6. Commercial gas (19 kg) fell by Rs 283 earlier this month. Yesterday, again, the price dropped by Rs 8.50 per cylinder.

In Delhi, 14.2 kg of gas cylinder is priced at Rs 1,053, in Kolkata at Rs 1,079 and in Chennai at Rs 1,068.50. As a result of the reduction in commercial gas prices, the price of 19 kg of gas cylinder in Delhi has dropped to Rs 2,110.50.
