Maoist violence is again seen in the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border area. They have again shown their presence by setting fire to 6 vehicles in the Dantewada district last night. People are now in a state of panic. This happened in the Malkangiri border area yesterday.
As per sources, road construction work was going on between Dantewada and Bijapur which is under the Prime Minister’s Road Scheme. The Naxals arrived at a camp late last night with weapons and they threatened the workers to stop the work.
The Naxals further set fire to six vehicles that are on duty. They destroyed the camp and set fire to it. A red banner was found near the camp, threatening the contractor. Police arrived at the scene early in the morning and started an investigation.
The Naxals are said to be active in the Dantewada district again. It is alleged that the road contractor was repeatedly threatened by the Naxals to stop the road work. But the contractor refused to do so and started the road construction work.
