Various programs were held yesterday in the Rayagada town area on the occasion of National Sports Day and Major Dhyanchand’s birth anniversary. A cyclothon rally was also held by Rayagada City Marwadi Youth Forum.
District Collector Swadhadev Singh attended the program as the chief guest and SP Shri Vivekanand Sharma joined as the guest of honour and inaugurated the event. Many youths of the town joined in the event and make it successful.
On this occasion, District Sports Officer, and Municipality Chairman Shri P. Mahesh Patnaik were also present. At the event, they spoke about the main motive of this day and why we are celebrating this National Sports Day every year.
The cycle rally starts from the Indoor stadium via the ring road, 326 National highway, petrol pump and finally reached to the stadium covering 9 kilometres distance of the town.
Approximately 200+ girls were joined in this event from Rayagada City Marwadi Youth Forum. Many other dignitaries, govt officials along with Marwadi Youth Forum president Shri Ajit Jena were present and managed the event.
