The Mandia Mandi (ମାଣ୍ଡିଆ ମଣ୍ଡି) has been inaugurated in Nabarangpur town under administrative supervision yesterday in the presence of District Collector in the courtyard of Regulated Market Committee (RMC).
This year, the responsibility of Mandia Mandi management has been given to 7 Farmer Producer Companies (FPC) and 3 Lamps in the district. Mandia/Ragi has decided to buy TDCC from Mandi.
Govindalaya Farmers Producer Company has been assigned the responsibility of purchasing Mandia in Nabarangpur block and the target has been given to purchase 4243/- quintal Mandia in the year 2022-23.
District Collector Dr Kamal Lochan Mishra, District Chief Agriculture Officer V.G Reddy, BM TDCC Shamsundar Majhi, Govindalaya FPC President Mr. Satish Patnaik, DSWO Madam and Mr Ajay Kumar Mohanty & Rajendra Kumar Mishra on behalf of RMC participated in the inauguration of Mandi.
District Collector Dr. Kamal Lochan Mishra gave ideas to the present farmers about the business opportunities and government assistance for Millets.
Shri Shanmuga Patro, the founder of the Govindalaya, spoke about the need for feedback from farmers. CDAO Mr Reddy & DSWO Madam also drew attention to the Millet Mission of Odisha government.
Along with the govt officials, media persons, farmers from different panchayats, WSHG members from Pilika village, Govindalaya staff, WASSAN personnel and RMC staff joined the Mandi inauguration event.
