Yesterday the Lamtaput and Machhkund police jointly conducted a raid in SanSagar (ସାନ ସଗର) village under Machhkund PS limits and seized 125 kilograms of ganja. They further arrested one accused.
According to reports, the Machhkund police received a tip-off that a huge amount of cannabis (ଗଞ୍ଜେଇ) was stored in a house in SanSagar village. After that, the police team jointly conducted a raid and were able to find 6 bags of ganja from a house.
After weighting it, it was found to be 125 kilograms and 800 grams. They arrested one ganja smuggler named Deba Mandi from Kanchana (କଞ୍ଚଣା) village. The market price of the seized ganja is more than Rs 5 Lakh.
A further investigation is underway to find out who else was involved in this ganja smuggling case, said Machhkund IIC Dambarudhar Batria. In the raid Lamtaput Fandi officer Chittaranjan Pradhani, Krishna Mishra and other police officials were present.
