Koraput district collector Shri M. Abdaal Akhtar arrived at Jeypore Airport yesterday to review the infrastructure. The district administration is urging the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) central team to visit the airport on the 22nd of July 2022.
By the time the team arrives, the district administration plans to complete all works before the 21st of this month. IndiaOne Air has already been selected for the flight plan from Jeypore.
Their ticket booking counter is already there. After reviewing the airport and issuing a DGCA license, commercial aircraft will fly from here, the Koraput collector said.
The first phase of Bhubaneswar-Jeypore-Vishakhapatnam and Vishakhapatnam-Jeypore-Bhubaneswar flights will start from here with 9 seats. At a later date big plane will also fly, the district magistrate said in a statement.
The district administration reviewed its infrastructure before the 9-seater flight. The airport has reviewed CCTV, HHMD, DFMD, X-ray bag machines, car parking, passenger access and exit, Boundary Wall, Perimeter Road, Light, Traffic Control, Gate and more.
The district collector was accompanied by SP Shri Barun Guntapalli, Roads and Housing Executive Engineer Bhaskar Samantaray, Deputy District Magistrate Bedabara Pradhan and SDPO Arup Abhishek Behera.
