The 5G spectrum auction process ended the day before yesterday and the list of which companies have acquired the spectrum of which telecom circle has been released.
Only Reliance, Jio and Bharti Airtel have bought 5G spectrum for Odisha. Vodafone Idea and Adani Data Networks did not show interest in acquiring spectrum in Odisha.
Therefore, in the coming days, only Jio and Mukesh Ambani’s company Reliance Jio has acquired the spectrum of 700 MHz, 1800 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands in Odisha.
The company has spent 1590 crore rupees to get all these band spectrums in the state. The company has spent a maximum of Rs 620 crore to purchase spectrum in the 700 MHz band.
Similarly, Sunil Mittal’s company Airtel has bought a spectrum of 180 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands in Odisha. For this, the company has spent Rs 779 crore. The 700 MHz band is considered to be the most effective band for 5G services.
As per the latest report, only Jio has acquired spectrum in this band for Odisha. It requires the installation of fewer towers. The coverage of one tower is about 10 km. It works great indoors, outdoors, in crowded places and areas with high data usage.
Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that 5G services will be launched in the country by October this year. It can be expected that 5G will be available in Odisha within that time. The most important aspect of 5G mobile service is data speed.
Due to the fast data flow, many important tasks can be performed very easily. Its download speed will be many times higher than 4G. But the real experience will be known only when the 5G service is launched.
Four companies – Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Adani Data Networks – were vying for 5G spectrum globally. Jio has bought the most 5G spectrum worth Rs 88,078 crore, Airtel Rs 43,084 crore, Vodafone Idea Rs 18,799 crore and Adani Rs 212 crore.
