Jai Tentulikhunti Human Services Group has celebrated the birth anniversary of Shahid Laxman Nayak who was an indigenous civil rights activist & freedom fighter of South Odisha, near Tentulikhunti Main chowk.
Senior educator Bipra Charan Nayak, senior leader Ramesh Chandra Sahu was the guest of honour at Laxman Nayak’s (22nd Nov 1899 – 29th March 1943) birth anniversary function hosted by Akhila Bhatra, head of Jai Tentulikhunti Human Services Group and laid a wreath at the statue of Laxman Nayak.
Similarly, Mr Akhila Bhatra laid a wreath (ଫୁଲମାଳ) at the statue of Shahid Laxman Nayak and paid homage to him. The speakers said that Laxman Nayak’s contribution to the country was incomparable.
Last year, a statue of Shahid Laxman Nayak was erected near the Thana Chowk by the Jai Tentulikhunti Human Service Group, but no shed has been set up yet. The block administration has been asked to arrange a shed.
Today’s event was attended by villagers and intellectuals including Jai Tentulikhunti Human Services Group senior members Hanesh Patra Bagh, Sushant Kumar Shatapathy, Tusharkant Guru, Pradeep Das, Vickeybabu Patra, Balaram Panigrahi, Damdor Jani, Chapala Nayak etc..
