The Bhubaneswar-based Regional Meteorological Center has warned of a thunderstorm in 12 districts of South & Western Odisha in the next 12 hours, means in the evening of Friday (11.06.2022).
Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sundergarh, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj districts of the state are likely to receive thunderstorms and lightning strikes.
People are not allowed to go out at this time of night due to thunderstorms. Similarly, heavy rains are expected in one or two places in Bargarh and Sonepur districts at this time. With this in mind, special attention is paid to children, the elderly and the sick.
The Regional Meteorological Center, Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow warning for these 14 districts. On the other hand, one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts, including the coastal state of Odisha, are likely to receive light to moderate rain during night-time.
The remaining districts of Odisha are likely to experience dry weather, according to a warning issued by the Bhubaneswar-based Regional Meteorological Department.
