After this ongoing intense heat and humid conditions, the people of Odisha can expect a break as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain and thunderstorm activities till June 2 in the State.
As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, Boudh district recorded the highest maximum temperature of 43 degrees on Saturday. However, several parts of the State are likely to experience a moderate drop-in day temperature due to thunderstorm activities in the coming days.
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur in some districts of South Odisha like one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi and in Kandhamal, Boudh, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak & Balasore
Yellow Warning issued for Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi districts. Today in some parts of the Nabarangpur district, light rain was seen at around 3-4 pm.
According to IMD, Bhubaneswar the entire Odisha state will receive moderate rain from tomorrow onwards till the 2nd of June 2022. Therefore, the district administration has advised all the people not to go out of their homes during the thunderstorm with lightning time.
