Odisha’s achievements in Naxal suppression are remarkable. Especially in the Malkangiri district, Naxal violence was seen almost every day. That’s why the Odisha govt established the BSF camp to overlook their activities.
But now the picture has changed. The Maoists are surrendering to join the mainstream. The Chief Minister also called upon the Maoists to come back to the mainstream.
If people understand and join the development process of the state government, there will be no problem with food security. Because of this, many Maoist from the South Odisha district area joined the mainstream and now living happily.
Nangi Kawashi (ନାଙ୍ଗି କାବାସୀ) and Radha Madkami (ରାଧା ମାଡକାମୀ), who worked for a long time in the Naxal group now enjoying their life. Both of them left the organization and joined the mainstream because they could not tolerate the violence against women in the women’s organization.
Yesterday, on the occasion of Holy Raksha Bandhan, the two tied Rakhi to Malkangiri SP Nitesh Wadhwani showing the unity and closeness of brotherhood.
Malkangiri SP further said, “Leave the forest and come to the city, the police will help everyone.” The SP also requested the Naxals to return back home and joined the mainstream.
