T

The locals of Gunupur are very angry about TATA Power’s service and they are very unsatisfied because of the frequent electricity cut in the town & for the high electricity bill.

Yesterday the Communist Party of India (CPI) has taken to the Highway to demand that consumers pay more for electricity bills. Hundreds of party workers, led by Tripati Gomang (ତ୍ରିପତି ଗମାଙ୍ଗ), chanted slogans against Tata Power and marched from the old bus stand to the city’s power station.

Reduction of electricity bills in tribal-dominated areas, free of charge to all consumers up to 200 units, frequent power cuts and low voltage shutdowns they have demanded.

Also provision of free electricity services to BPLs and the poor, provision for the hearing of consumer complaints, cessation of arbitrary fines and they demanded the repeal of the Electricity Act 2020.
