36 New Police Stations with 563 Job Posts will be created in Odisha

Odisha Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has approved the proposal to open 36 new police stations in the state because of the increased population and administrative needs. The Chief Minister has ordered to make these police stations operational soon.

The new police stations which are going to be opened soon are – Bagedia and Gopalprasad in Angul, Gopalpur and Anantpur in Balasore, Bargarh Rural in Bargarh, Nimakhandi in Berhampur, Lakhmijhore and Agalpur in Balangir, Ghantapoda in Boudha district.

Similarly, Maitri Bihar in Bhubaneswar Commissionerate, Maniabandh, Jodum and Bhadreshwar in Cuttack Rural, Laimura in Deogarh, Mahabir Road in Dhenkanal, Beguniapada and Kotinda in Ganjam, Krushnanandpur in Jagatsinghpur, Alakund (ଅଳକୁଣ୍ଡ), Brahmabarada and Dasarathpur in Jajpur, Airport Police Station in Jharsuguda.

In South Odisha, the new police staions will be opened in Karlapat and Kalampur in Kalahandi, Sunki in Koraput, Malkangiri Sadar Korkunda in Malkangiri, Maidalpur in Nabarangpur and Ramnaguda in Rayagada district.

The others are – Patamundai, Korua (କୋରୁଆ) & Kudanagari in Kendrapara district, Manoharpur in Keonjhar, Nachuni (ନାଚୁଣୀ) in Khurdha, Bhanjpur in Mayurbhanj, Charichak in Puri, Bareipali (ବରେଇପାଲି) in Sambalpur and Lachhipur (ଲଚ୍ଛିପୁର) in Subarnapur.

All these new stations have been created by the division of existing stations and up-gradation of police outposts. For these new stations, 563 new posts have been created at various levels from inspector to constable.

The Chief Minister has expressed hope that the efforts of the Odisha Police will be strengthened in providing better police services to the people due to the establishment of these 36 new police stations.
