30 Lakh National Flags were prepared by Mission Shakti of Odisha

On the occasion of 75 years of Independence, the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is gaining momentum across the country. Between August 13 and 15, the national flag is being hoisted in all homes and educational institutions.

On Saturday, a representative team of Mission Shakti self-help group supporters and producers met the Odisha Chief Minister and expressed their gratitude for reposing their trust in them for such a huge responsibility by conveying over the hand-made national flag.

On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day, the national flag will be flown at all government, private institutions and organizations of the state. National Flags designed and supplied by Mission Shakti members are unique.

The members said that their determination, sincerity and sufficient devotion are reflected in it. Expressing full confidence in the industrial capacity of Mission Shakti members in Odisha and making full use of the sewing units available to them, the State Government has given importance to the Mission Shakti Self Help Groups to stitch 30 lakh national flags.

Under this programme, more than 6 lakh groups have been organized in villages and towns of the state. By August 10, the flags made by these members were collected from each district and distribution began.

The Tiranga has been distributed free of cost to the public by the district administration while the entire cost of making the flag has been borne by the state government.
