11000 Teachers will be Employed at a time in the State, Odisha

Schools and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Das said on Tuesday that approximately 11,000 teachers will be employed in the state’s high schools and the teachers will be recruited by the end of June.

He said the announcement for the appointment of 11,000 teachers was made a few months ago. The process is over now and they will be hired later this month. In a special function, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will hand over appointment letters to them.

Minister Das had earlier announced the appointment of 1,700 teachers in model schools. Notably, on December 16 last year, the state government hired 6,000 teachers, which has a history of recruitment. Never before had so many teachers been hired in a single day.

The appointment was made by the Chief Minister at a special function held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on December 16. The process of hiring so many teachers took just 47 days.

On the other hand, with the transformation of high schools in the state, it is hoped that the government will take action on primary schools. There are about 8,000 high schools in the state. Of these, 5,000 schools are being converted.

The rest of the 3,000 high schools will be converted soon. Teachers are needed when the school is transformed. So the recruitment process is underway. After the transformation of the high schools, the issue of primary schools will be considered, he said.
